If you follow us on our podcast, our YouTube channel, Twitter handle, or here on our website, you’ll notice two things. First, we love to talk trash. Second, Luke is incapable of being anything other than negative in regard to the Yankees.

Here’s a little glimpse of what goes on here at BleacherBrawls. It’s even worse behind the scenes.

Recently, Luke suggested Barnes and I go on a podcast episode and talk about how much pressure the Yankees team is facing and could they possibly ever be able deal with that pressure.

Obviously this was a hater hating. This Yankees team is locked in, playing so well that there is no way any outside noise is getting into that clubhouse. I’m not worried about this team facing pressure. I laughed it off.

I did begin to think about the pressure the fans are putting on ourselves. Even without taking the asterisked years of 2017 – 2019 into account, the Yankees have gone way too long without a World Series. The fans are getting impatient. Rightfully so.

Yankees fans are so focused on “World Series or bust”, that we aren’t enjoying the season that is playing out in front of us. We are so focused on the end result that we aren’t taking a moment to enjoy the ride.

Any other fanbase in MLB would be ecstatic with their team playing this well. Yankees fans, myself included, are taking the approach of “wait and see” before letting the excitement get to us.

The more I thought about this, the more I realized I was missing out on a good thing. The failures of 2010 – 2016 and 2021, the Astro-isked, Alex Cora ruined seasons of 2017 – 2019 have taken away our ability to enjoy what we are seeing. Again, myself included.

From this point forward, I am enjoying what this team is doing. I am allowing myself to get caught up in the excitement that 26 man exudes on a daily basis.

Aaron Judge is having one of the best seasons in MLB history. Instead of worrying about the looming decision, I’m going to enjoy every moment of it.

The Yankees organization, especially under the Steinbrenner family, has always put this team first. I have faith that Hal Steinbrenner sees what he has in Aaron Judge, that a 10 year contract will pay for itself in merchandise sales alone. Hal Steinbrenner is a smart man who is aware of public perception, just like his father The Boss. Trust the family that has earned our trust.

I’m going to enjoy the unbelievable season the rotation is having. Severino is electric. Cortes is sneaky. Taillon is an artist. Cole is a bulldog who brings it every start regardless of whether he has his best stuff or not. The Yankees have finally started scoring runs for Monty!

I love watching Kyle Higashioka and Jose Trevino behind the dish. Trevino especially is becoming a favorite for his clutch hits and his ability to bring the A game out of the pitching staff. I’m enjoying it.

Yankees fans, we’ve been humbled. It’s been a rough stretch of years. I believe it is time to start learning from humility. Let’s enjoy what we are no longer enjoying. Let the stress of tomorrow wait until tomorrow and get caught up in the energy the Yankees are showing us every night. Enjoying the ride is going to make the destination that much sweeter.
